Casual insights to ticketing and fan engagement research

Hey Ticket Tree fam!

As most of you know, I’m wrapping up my senior year at Endicott College, majoring in Marketing & Data Analytics. My senior thesis is all about something at the front of all of our minds—ticketing and fan engagement. Specifically, I’ve been diving into how different ticket package innovations impact both revenue optimization and long-term fan loyalty. Naturally, I’m applying everything I learn straight into what we’re building at Ticket Tree.

Here are a few key takeaways from my research so far that reinforce the Ticket Tree value prop:

  • Fans value fairness and flexibility 🤝

  • Innovative ticketing boosts both revenue and loyalty (duh) 📈

  • Digital experiences keep fans coming back 👀

Fans Value Fairness and Flexibility

One of the most important things I’ve found is that fans want fair and transparent ticketing options. The Social Exchange Theory tells us that fans feel more connected to teams when they see real value in what they’re paying for. Not only do we have industry-low fees, but Ticket Tree shows fans exactly where their funds are going, ensuring transparency at every step. It’s all about building trust, which leads to long-term loyalty.

At Ticket Tree, we believe ticketing should feel better than just a fair exchange, where fans get flexibility and a memorable experience without the hassle. And guess what? That approach builds trust, which is the foundation of long-term loyalty. It’s easier to keep the fans coming back and when they’re getting loaded value with each ticket purchase.

Innovative Ticketing Boosts Both Revenue and Loyalty

Revenue and fan loyalty don’t have to be at odds—innovative ticketing strategies can drive both. Research shows that when teams offer customized pricing and packaging options, they can increase revenue while making fans feel more appreciated. It’s all about finding the right balance. Offering demand-based pricing and exclusive packages allows teams to maximize sales without alienating fans.

That’s exactly what we’re doing at Ticket Tree—giving teams the tools to boost revenue while keeping fans engaged and satisfied.

Digital Experiences Keep Fans Coming Back

Finally, let’s talk about how digital experiences—like collectibles—play a huge role in keeping fans engaged. Fans aren’t just buying tickets anymore; they want to feel connected to the event and the team. The research shows that when fans get something extra, like a digital collectible tied to their ticket, they’re more likely to return for future games. That’s why we’ve built collectibles into our ticketing model at Ticket Tree—it adds value and gives fans a lasting memory of their experience.

At the end of the day, it’s about creating a deeper connection with fans, and the Ticket Tree fan experience does just that.

Alright, back to the important stuff. Ticket Tree launches tickets this week, so you’ll be receiving another version of the world’s best newsletter.
